Troop 9 Spring 2026 Merit Badge Seminar
We are very pleased to announce the Troop 9 Spring 2026 Merit Badge Seminar at Holy Cross School, Champaign, IL on March 7, 2026. Registration will open on Wednesday, January 21 at 7:30 PM CST and closes on February 21. The registration link and instructions will be posted here by January 14.
We are happy to partner with the Parkland Career Center this year. We will be offering a class for scouts to do some hands-on exploration of career opportunities. This is limited to 15 scouts and will be at Parkland.
We are also partnering with the Parkland Planetarium, College of Vet Med, Parkland Aviation, Iron Workers Local 380, and the Champaign Fire and Police Departments to offer offsite class opportunities.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers and scouters that make this seminar a possibility. Without you, we could not get everything done!
Registration will go live Wednesday, January 21st, at 7:30PM CST.
*Doors to Holy Cross will open at 6:45am to start checking people in. Classes will begin at 8:00am*
*Buses for offsite classes will leave promptly at 7:45am. They will not wait for late scouts.
*We are happy to share that registration has remained the same $35. Payments should be made as soon as your registration is complete.
Here are a few notes for this year:
- The Holy Cross class schedule can be found here.
- Note: We are still finalizing counselors for a few classes, so the class schedule is subject to change.
- We will use our own created database for registration. You will select the classes, enter your scout information, and pay at the same time. Your class seats are saved for you as soon as you select them.
- Initial Max Seat Limit: To provide the greatest opportunities for scouts from all troops to attend popular classes, troops may sign up for no more than 5 seats in any one class on the first day of registration. After the first day, this limit will be removed and all remaining seats will be available.
- Homework: Here is the homework list as of 11/25/2025. This list is subject to change. We will post the final list here by February 20.
- Onsite Adults: Each troop should have at least two adults who can attend a class to help supervise. We will need adults in Citizenship in Society to help facilitate the discussions.
- Cheese pizza, chips, and cookies will be provided. We are in the process of finalizing the logistics of lunch and where troops will be able to eat.
We are very excited to see you,
Troop 9
